WHAT IS MEDIATION AND ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION (ADR)?

Mediation is a proven alternative to costly and time extensive litigation where the courts would hand down a decision to the parties.  Many courts mandate disputing parties to first try ADR/Mediation before litigation is pursued.

Mediation is based on the principles of communication between the parties, negotiation, and problem-solving techniques and emphasizes the needs and interests of the participants as well as fairness, procedural flexibility, privacy, confidentiality, full disclosure, and self-determination. Mediation can also help family members and business partners communicate and settle disagreements long before they reach the point of litigation.

WHAT IS ABITRATION?

Arbitration is based on the principles of communication between the parties, negotiation, and problem-solving techniques and emphasizes the needs and interests of the participants as well as fairness, procedural flexibility, privacy, confidentiality, full disclosure, and self-determination. Mediation can also help family members and business partners communicate and settle disagreements long before they reach the point of litigation.

Mediation and Arbitration Services

All mediation is done virtually via Zoom, Skype, or other secured online meeting services. In-persons or hybrid mediations are considered a premium. The venue, logistical arrangements, refreshments, and reasonable driving expenses are additional charges.

Airfare or overnight travel expenses will be treated as a disbursement and divided equally among the parties.
A firm fee statement will be provided promptly after the initial information inquiry, consultation, and description of the case elements. Payment is required at least three (10) days before the beginning of the mediation.

Family Mediation

If you are contemplating divorce, legal separation, child custody, visitation, child support or alimony, living support in Texas, and have considered consulting with an attorney or petitioning the court, you may want to explore the benefits of first working together with a mediator in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
Mediation will save you and your partner the considerable time and expense of an adversarial legal proceeding, it will also shelter you and your children from the most harmful emotional effects of these family changes.
